Meter Reading Estimates is a tool that gives you the ability to fill individual periods of missing energy utility data with estimates. Estimates can be used at your discretion, for example, when you're unable to find a bill for the missing period. See here for our methodology behind our gap estimates feature.
NOTE: Estimates are only available for energy meters. Only customers in the Premium tier have access to this feature.
How do I use Meter Reading Estimates?
To begin, you will either see missing data on the Data Completeness page or a missing utility bill(s) on the building-level Utilities page.
- Navigate to the 'Utilities' page of the property with the meter reading gap you'd like to estimate.
- Click on the meter with the gap > Here, you will see the missing data in the 'Readings' table of the meter pop-out page.
- You can either choose, 'Add Meter Reading' or 'Add Estimate' > Choose 'Add Estimate' to add the estimate.
- After the estimate has been added, you will see the reading greyed out and marked as estimated. NOTE: You can delete the estimate at any point (such as when you want to replace it with actual data) for any non-Utility Sync meters, just click the ellipsis to the right of the reading.
- You will also be able to see if a meter has at least one estimated reading when viewing the Meters table on the building-level Utilities page.
