This article describes the function, instructions, and header definitions of the 'Meters & Readings Template' in Measurabl.
FUNCTION:
- To create meters and add readings to those new meters in bulk on existing buildings. You cannot update existing meters or readings using this template.
Download the template HERE
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- All headers that are green in the template are required fields to fill out. If it is blue, it is optional, and you can leave the cell blank. Note that some fields may be conditionally optional - meaning the field may be blue to start, but will turn green if it becomes required based on other information you add.
- Make sure the building name matches exactly how it is in Measurabl.
- If there is a dropdown menu in any of the cells, please use one of the options from the menu.
- All dates should be in MM/DD/YYYY format.
- Only input 1 line of data per row.
- Please do not add additional columns, fields, or alter the template in any way.
- Bulk uploads can not be reversed once they are processed by our team, so it is important to quality check the data before submitting it.
Once you've completed the bulk upload, you can send it to support@measurabl.com for processing.
TIPS:
- If you are needing manual meter readings corrected, and are sending a bulk upload of the correct readings, please indicate this in your email. Bulk uploads are automatically assumed to be new data, and we can not overwrite existing readings with a bulk upload.
- We can not bulk upload data to Utility Sync meters. If you need data to be added to a Utility Sync meter, you will either need to upload the bills to the account or send us the missing bills, depending on the account type.
- Please do not combine readings for new and existing meters in the same template. We have two separate templates to use depending on if the readings are meant for meters that exist already or if you want new meters added. If you need to add data for both existing and new meters, separate the existing and new meter data into the appropriate templates.
- For reading uploads to existing meters, make sure the currency of the readings is the same as what the existing meter was created in. Meter readings can only be added to an existing meter if they are in the same currency the meter was created in, otherwise a new meter will have to be created or the cost values converted.
- Remember to include the currency regardless if there’s a cost value or not. This is a required field to create a new meter or to add readings to a meter (even without cost).
- For new meters, each meter name needs to be unique at a property.
