In deregulated markets, buildings can have separate energy accounts for generation and distribution. Flagging a utility account as "generation" prevents usage data from being duplicated in ENERGY STAR, but preserves total production cost within Measurabl and ENERGY STAR®. This article shows how to flag a utility sync account as 'generation'.
ENROLLING A GENERATION UTILITY SYNC ACCOUNT:
- To make a Utility Sync account a generation account, you will first need to enroll the account number(s), following the normal steps here.
- Once the account is enrolled, click on the site/account card in Utility Sync.
- Scroll down to the 'Accounts' table, and click on the ellipsis to the right of the account number > Mark as Generation Account.
- A pop up will appear, and you can select "Mark as Generation Account "or cancel.
Congrats! Your account's duplicative usage data is now omitted from Measurabl and ENERGY STAR®. It may take up to 24 hours for the updated figures to appear.
