This article will show you how to deactivate your utility accounts or a utility provider in Utility Sync. This may apply to you if your site has changed utility providers or added new utility accounts that replaced old ones.
How to Deactivate Utility Sync Accounts:
- From the Measurabl landing page, click on the 'Utility Sync' tab.
- Type & select the site you’d like to deactivate an account at.
- Select the associated utility provider > Scroll down to the 'Accounts' section, and locate the account number you need to deactivate.
- Click on the ellipsis (...) icon to the right of it > Click 'Deactivate Account'.
- The account is now deactivated, and the associated meters on the 'Utilities' page will appear as inactive on the last read date within 24 hours.
Deactivating a Utility Sync Provider:
If you want to deactivate all accounts under a provider, you will want to deactivate the service provider. This process is the same for both online/offline service providers.
NOTE: Deactivating a provider will deactivate the accounts ONLY listed on that page for that property (i.e. if you have other accounts under a different property with the same provider, they will remain active).
- Navigate to the same page where the desired Utility Sync accounts are by going to your 'Utility Sync' tab > Click on the property where you’d like to deactivate the provider > Click on the utility provider that you want to deactivate.
- Click the ellipsis (...) icon in the top right corner > Click 'Deactivate Provider'.
- Read the prompt > Type in 'DEACTIVATE'.
- The provider and associated accounts are now deactivated, all of the associated meters on the 'Utilities' page will appear as inactive on the last read date within 24 hours.

- What does it mean exactly to deactivate my accounts or provider?
- Deactivating a utility account(s) and/or service provider page blocks any new data from flowing into Measurabl or ENERGY STAR, however the historical data from these accounts will remain in Measurabl and ENERGY STAR. The associated meters in Measurabl will still show up in your 'Utilities' page, but they will be marked as inactive.

- If you deactivate one account that is part of a summary account, all accounts that are part of the summary account get deactivated automatically.
