The Reports tab in Data Manager gives you access to data reports across your portfolio. While more reports are on the way, the first available report is the Audit Report.
Audit Report
What is the Audit Report?
The Audit Report provides a historical log of changes made to your data within a selected time period. It’s designed to help you track and verify updates across your portfolio, whether those changes were made manually by users or automatically by the system.
You can filter the Audit Report based on:
- Timeframe: Select a start date and end date of changes to include
- Change Type: Choose to view only create, update, delete actions – or include all
- Data Type: Currently supports changes to Buildings, Meters, Meter Readings, Spaces, Meter Assignments, Certifications, and Ratings.
Accessing the Audit Report
To generate an Audit Report:
- Go to the Reports tab in Data Manager
- Select Audit Report
- Set your desired time range, change type, and data type filters
- Download the report file (.xlsx format)
Note: Audit data is only available starting from July 1, 2024.
Understanding the Audit Report File
The downloaded file includes the following key details:
- Timestamps are recorded in UTC
- The User field shows who made the change – either an individual user (displayed by email) or a system user like ENERGY STAR® or Measurabl (e.g., automated syncs via Connect)
- For each record, the report displays paired columns: Previous and Updated values, allowing you to clearly see what was changed and how
