Bulk Import Data Validations in Data Manager – Measurabl Help Center

This support article describes the various data validations in place for the Bulk Import feature in Data Manager.

The following data validations are currently evaluated when you upload a file to the importer, but before final submission.

Data Validation	Description
Access	You are only allowed to import data for buildings you have access to in your portfolio. Users with the Reviewer role are also not able to import data.
Reading Duplicates	Readings with the same date range, usage, and cost are not allowed to be imported. Duplication is checked both within the file being uploaded as well as readings that already exist in your portfolio.
Date Ranges	The reading’s start date must be before the reading’s end date The reading’s start date must be on or after the meter’s activation date. The reading’s end date must be on or before the meter’s deactivation date. The reading’s end date must not be more than 6 months into the future.
Demand Data	If either Demand or Demand Cost are provided for a meter reading, both values must be filled out.
Data Locks	Readings are not allowed to be created if they span a data lock’s date range.
Restricted Meters	The following meters do not allow manual readings to be created for them: Connect meters Bill Upload meters Read-only ENERGY STAR® meters Connected but not syncing ENERGY STAR® meters (due to unsupported values or permissions)
