The Meters tab on Building Detail lists every meter at a building. From there, you can open a meter, view its profile, and add, correct or remove its readings.
This article will help you:
- Find a building's meters
- View a meter's profile
- Add, edit and delete meter readings
- Understand why a reading can't be changed
Before you start
- Adding, editing and deleting readings depends on your role. See Who can use what.
- Readings inside a locked reporting period can't be changed. See Locking data for a reporting period.
- Readings on meters whose data comes in automatically, through Connect or Bill Upload, can't be changed by hand.
- Adding, changing and deleting meters in Navigate is coming soon. Until then, use Core: select the grid icon at the top left of the side navigation, then Core.
See a building's meters
Open a building and select the Meters tab. The table shows each meter's name, type and the spaces it serves. Select a meter to open its page, with its readings.

On the meter's page, select View Meter Profile. The profile opens in a panel with four sections.

| Spaces Served | The spaces this meter measures |
| Renewables | Tracking instrument and whether the meter is fully off-site renewable |

Common questions
Why can't I add, edit or delete readings on a meter? There are three common reasons: your role doesn't allow it, the reading falls inside a locked period, or the meter's data comes in automatically through Connect or Bill Upload.
Can I add or edit a meter here? Not yet. It's coming to Navigate soon. Until then, add, change or delete meters in Core.
What can I choose as an Estimate Source? Customer, Utility or Third Party. Estimates that Measurabl created show Measurabl and can't be edited.
Are duplicate readings blocked? Not when you save. A reading that overlaps another on the same meter is flagged as an outlier, Duplicate in Same Meter, and its panel offers Delete Duplicate Reading.
Do my reading changes go to ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager? For buildings synced with ENERGY STAR®, yes, if the meter is shared with Full Access. Edits and deletes are sent right away. New readings are sent on the next ENERGY STAR sync, so they can take a little while to appear there. On a meter shared Read Only, edits to synced readings can't be saved, and new or deleted readings change only in Measurabl.
Can I see who changed a reading? Yes. Go to Data Manager > Reports and run the Audit Report. It lists each change to buildings, meters, readings, spaces, ratings and certifications, with who made it.
Can I export readings? Yes. A meter's readings and a building's meters export to Excel.
