Issue detection in Data Manager helps identify issues in your data that can lead to poor data quality. Data Manager surfaces three types of issues:
- Outliers
- Gaps
- Account Issues
You'll find all three in the side navigation under Data Manager > Data Health, and on each building's Building Detail tabs.
Outliers
Outlier detection in Data Manager helps identify readings that deviate significantly from expected patterns across energy and water meter readings.
Data Manager supports these types of outliers:
- Usage Outliers: usage may be incorrectly low or incorrectly high
- Cost Outliers: cost may be incorrectly low or incorrectly high
- Cost vs Usage Ratio Outliers: cost per usage, or usage per cost, may be incorrectly low or high
- Duplicate Outliers: a reading may be duplicated in another meter, or within its own meter
- Date Outliers: a reading's period is unusually long, or its end date is in the future
Gaps
Data Manager supports two gap issues:
- Gaps, or true gaps, are missing data between two meter readings. The Action Needed column on Data Health > Gaps suggests the best way to resolve each one.
- End Gaps occur when a meter's last reading is more than 90 days before today. Depending on where the meter's data comes from, the missing data may need to be entered by hand, uploaded through Bill Upload, or fixed by resolving an account issue in Connect.
You can fill a gap in Navigate by adding the missing reading on the meter's page. For meters collected through Connect or Bill Upload, you can upload the bill that covers the period instead. See Data Health: gaps, outliers and account issues and Data Collection and Bill Upload.
Account Issues
Data Manager shows the same account issues you see in Core's Connect Dashboard. There are two categories: Connect issues and Bill Upload issues.
Connect account issues:
Account Not Found
E-Bill Enrollment Required
Account Inactive
Missing Security Answers
Account Setup Required
Username/Password Failure
Unsupported Provider
More detail on each is in Connect Account Issues.
Bill Upload account issues: the only one is Invalid Bill. See How do I fix an 'Invalid Bill' issue?
